Donat was born on July 11th, 1907.  Donat's father was Auguste Auffrey and his mother was Monique LeBlanc.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Auffrey and Henriette  Gauvin; his maternal grandparents were Francois LeBlanc and Anne Leger. He had two sisters named Marie and Ainee.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-brother named Daniel.  He died at the age of 66 on March 19th, 1974.
