Marcelline was born on June 4th, 1832.  Marcelline's father was Dominique Charles Auffray and her mother was Nathalie Bourgeois.  Her paternal grandmother was Jeanne  Mathurine Auffray; her maternal grandparents were Jean Baptiste Bourgeois and Marguerite  Brault. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Augustin, Marguerite and Justine.  She was the second youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 73 on September 15th, 1905.  She was buried in St. Anselme, N.B..
