Jan Nepomuk Josef I. was born in 1721.  Jan Nepomuk Josef I.'s father was Karel Ferdinand Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz and his mother was Anna Alžbìta Terezie Straková z Nedabylic.  His paternal grandfather was Jan František Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz and his paternal grandmother is Anna Magdalena SLUZSKÁ Z CHLUMU; his maternal grandfather was Jindøich Jan Straka z Nedabylic and his maternal grandmother is Marie Veronika Stošová z Kounic. He had three brothers and a sister, named Václav Petr I., František Karel, Jan Josef and Marie Kateøina Alžbìta.  He was the youngest of the five children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Ferdinand Jindøich, Kateøina Anna Terezie, Marie and Ludmila.  He died at the age of 75 in 1796.
