Jan František was born in 1619.  Jan František's father was Václav Jiøík mladší Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz and his mother was Barbora Magdalena Maternová z Kvìtnice.  His paternal grandparents were Jan XVII. mladší Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz and Lidmila Gerštorfová z Gerštorfu; his maternal grandparents were Jindøich III. starší Materna z Kvìtnice and Mandaléna CIDLINSKÁ ZE SLUH. He had two sisters named Kateøina Dorota and Ludmila Alžbìta. He had two half-brothers named Bernard and Jiøí starší.  He died at the age of 74 in 1693 in Slavíkov.  He was buried in Nový Studenec u Chotìboøe.
