Paia was born on September 30th, 1896 in Panevezys (Ponevezh).  Paia's father was Manel Moshe Sapir and her mother was Leah Malka Orbach.  Her maternal grandparents were Yeshayahu Abraham Orbach and <Unknown>. She had three sisters named Gena, Hana  and Chava.  Paia and Hana  were twins.  She died in the Holocaust.
