August was born on January 23rd, 1900.1   August's father was William Wilkening II and his mother was Mathilda Sophia W.  Brunnworth.  His paternal grandparents were Wilhelm Wilkening and Dorothea Neitert; his maternal grandparents were Ludwig (Louis) Brunnworth and Marie (Louisa) Luise Kleffman. He had a brother and a sister, named William and Dorothea.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-sister named Minnie.  He died at the age of 73 on December 12th, 1973.1 



August's family

August and Edna were married on February 19th, 1928.1   They had four sons and three daughters, named Virgil, Donald, Alvin, Roger, Verla, Betty and Rose.
