Lydia was born in 1889 in Craig, Holt County, Missouri.  Lydia's father was Jacob Melton "Corn" VanVickle and her mother was Caroline Randall.  Her paternal grandparents were William VanVickle and Nancy L Pyle; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Randall and Susan Patton. She had three brothers and six sisters, named William, Lee, Andrew, Lavinia, Sarah, Ida, Nancy , Etta and Virginia.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 35 in 1924 in Craig, Holt County, Missouri.
