Carl, known as Louis, was born on September 23rd, 1858 in Pleasant Ridge, Edwardsville Township, Madison County, Illinois and his confirmation took place in 1872 in Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Hamel, Madison County, Illinois.1   Louis' father was Henry Curt Brunnworth and his mother was Dorothee (Sophia) Sophie Charlotte Buettemeier.  His paternal grandparents were Heinrich Wilhelm Brumwort and Anna Maria Dorothea Beckschewe; his maternal grandparents were Carl Friedrich Buettemeier and Dorothee Louise Lohmeier. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named John, Carl, William, Charles, Heinrich, Gottlieb, Gottlieb, Fred, Mary, Caroline and Sophia.  He was the second oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 38 on December 7th, 1896.  He was buried in Carrollton, Carroll County, Missouri.1 1 





Louis' family

Louis and Louise or Lizzie were married in a religious ceremony on July 31st, 1881 in Troy Lutheran Church, Troy, Madison County, Illinois.1   They had two sons and a daughter, named Oscar, Herbert and Clara.
