Leulla's father was Asa Rankin and her mother was Mindwell Rowell. Her paternal grandparents were John Rankin and Lois Whitcher. She had a sister named Laura. She was the younger of the two children. She died at the age of 86 on January 5th, 1933 in Danvers, McLean, Illinois, United States. She was buried in Danvers, McLean, Illinois, United States.¹¹
