William Moffitt

William was born on March 22nd, 1839 in Chillicothe, Peoria, Illinois, United States.¹ William's father was John Moffitt II and his mother was Maraget Dawson. His maternal grandparents were John Andrew Dawson and Margaret Littel. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Joshua, Alonzo, Hugh, John, Minerva, Matilda, Louisa and Mary Mariah. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 65 on January 11th, 1905 in Chillicothe, Peoria, Illinois, United States. He was buried in Chillicothe City Cemetery.¹¹
