John Butler was born on June 9th, 1866 in Chippewa, Isabella, Michigan, United States.1   John Butler's father was Syrenus Gordon and his mother was Lousia Ann Johnson.  His maternal grandparents were John Q. Johnson and Margaret Sutherland. He had a brother named William Henry.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 62 on June 29th, 1928 in Mabton, Yakima, Washington, United States.  He was buried in Sunnyside, WA,Washington.1 1
