Mark was born in 1783.  Mark's father was Marcus S Deems Sr and his mother was Elizabeth Flemming.  His paternal grandparents were Johannes Adam Diehm and Anna Christine Laudenclos. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Adam, George, Jacob, John, Mary and Catherine.
