Octávio José was born on January 26th, 1936 in Além Paraiba; MG and his baptism took place there. Octávio José's father was Octávio de Castro Cortes and his mother was Ana Marcondes Cortes. His maternal grandparents were João Marcondes dos Santos and Emiliana Monteiro de Barros Marcondes. He has three brothers and three sisters, named Nélson, <Unknown>, Jaime, Emiliana, Therezinha and Sônia. He is the oldest of the seven children.-
