Carroll was born on December 27th, 1903.  Carroll's father was Edmund P. Querrey and his mother was Lillian (Lillie) Lenora McCoy.  His maternal grandparents were Thomas   Brownfield McCoy and Sarah   Margaret Flanagan. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Robert, Edmond, Clayton, Margaret and Edith. He had a half-brother named Preston.  He died at the age of 66 on May 2nd, 1970.
