Josiah was born on November 16th, 1645 in Milford.  Josiah's father was Mr Richard Platt and his mother was Mrs Mary Wood. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Isaac, Samuel, Joseph, Epenetus, Mary, Sarah and Hannah.  He was the youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 78 on January 1st, 1724.
