Benjamin Wentworth

Benjamin was born about 1670 in Dover, Strafford, New Hampshire. Benjamin's father was William Wentworth and his mother was Elizabeth Kenney. His paternal grandfather was William Wentworth and his paternal grandmother is Susannah Carter. He had two brothers named Samuel and John. He had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Gershom, Ezekiel, Paul, Ephraim, Sylvanus, Timothy and Elizabeth. He died in August 1728 in Dover, Strafford, New Hampshire.¹

Death Notes
- The following from the NEW ENGLAND JOURNAL, of August 5, 1728, gives the only account known of his death.
  
  We are informed that some days ago, Mr. Benjamin Wentorth riding over a bridge (otherwise called the boom) in the river in Cochecho, N.H., fell into the said river , where both he and his horse were drowned.
  
  The boom referred to was where the bridge, a few rods above the lower falls in Dover, N.H., now stands.
