Abraham was born on November 16th, 1781 in Oostburg, Netherlands.  Abraham's father was Abraham Scheerens and his mother was Jozina Scheerens.  His maternal grandfather is Nicolaas de Clercq and his maternal grandmother was Catharina de Clercq. He had a brother and two sisters, named Cornelia, Catharina and Maria.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 41 on January 5th, 1823 in Nieuwvliet, Netherlands.
