Eliazer Paine

Eliazer was born about 1764 in East Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut. Eliazer's father was Stephen Paine and his mother was Lydia Paine. His paternal grandparents were Stephen Paine and Deborah Paine. He had four brothers and a sister, named Stephen, Rufus, Solomon, Josiah and Lydia. He was the fourth oldest of the six children. He died on February 10th, 1804 in Painesville, Lake, Ohio.

- Eleazer had enlisted in the Revolutionary Army at 16, on 5 July 1780 and was a drummer boy in Captain Bett's Company, second Connecticut regiment commanded by Colonel Zebulan Butler. !DEATH: Official roster of Rev Soldiers of Ohio. Eleazer started coming to Painesville as a merchant, he brought merchandise every trip starting in 1800 and became wealthy. He built the first grist mill in Painesville. He came to Painesville in June of 1803 with his family. Edward Paine the founder of Painesville was an uncle of Eleazer Paine and came to Ohio in 1799.
