John was born on August 19th, 1663 in Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts.1   John's father was Onesiphorus Marsh and his mother was Hannah Marsh.  His paternal grandfather was George Marsh and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Bowen; his maternal grandfather was John Cutler and his maternal grandmother is Mary Hewett. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Onesiphorus, Hannah, Abigail, Mary and Sarah.  He died in Marsh Hill, Haverhill, Essex, Massachusetts.  He was buried in "A man of honest report and of wisdom, That was pure and peaceable.2 3
