William was born in Rowley, Massachusetts.  William's father was William Foster and his mother is Mary Foster.  His paternal grandparents were Renald Foster and Judith; his maternal grandparents are William Jackson and Joanna. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Jonathan, Timothy, David, Samuel, Joseph, Hannah, Mary and Judith.  He died on August 29th, 1755 in Andover, Essex, Massachusetts.1
