Jonathan was born in Boxford, Essex, Massachusetts.1   Jonathan's father was William Foster and his mother is Mary Foster.  His paternal grandparents were Renald Foster and Judith; his maternal grandparents are William Jackson and Joanna. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Timothy, David, Samuel, Joseph, Hannah, Mary and Judith.  He died on May 21st, 1730 in Boxford, Essex, Massachusetts.1
