Esther was born in 1911 in Detroit, Michigan.1   Esther's father was Yitzchak (Itcha) Meir Pienica / Newman and her mother was Nettie (Necha) Pienica (Penica).  Her paternal grandparents are Pesach  Dov Pienica (Penica) and Chava Sura; her maternal grandparents are Lazer Yitzchak Pienica (Penica) and <Unknown>. She had three brothers named Joseph, Max and Martin. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Morrie J, Joe and Rose.
