Jeffrey was born on December 13th, 1950 in Manhatten, NY.  Jeffrey's father was Irving Zale and his mother is Lillian Levine.  His paternal grandparents were Wolf Zalewitz and Sara Bialy; his maternal grandparents were Alex Levine (Leff) and Terzil (Celia) Tucker. He had a brother named Sanford.  He is the older of the two children.
