Ellen was born in 1808.  Ellen's father was Nathan STATON and her mother was Sarah HOTCHKISS.  Her paternal grandfather was George STATON and her paternal grandmother is Ellen (UNKNOWN).  She had six brothers and three sisters, named Steven, Nathan, Henry, Dennis, Septimus, Dennis, Sarah, Mary and Ann.  She was the sixth oldest of the ten children.
