William CROOKES

William was born in 1814 in Holmesfield, Derbyshire, England. William's father was Elias CROOKES and his mother was Hannah GOODLAD. His maternal grandparents were John SHIRT and Faith GOODLAD. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John, Elias, Paul, Elizabeth and Martha. He was the fifth oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 61 in 1875.
