Maud was born in 1903. Maud's father was John [Crosscandley & Dromore] Boyd and her mother was Martha Ann Boyd.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel [Crosscandly] Boyd and Anne "Nancy" Anderson; her maternal grandparents were John [Ballyclough/Crosscandly/Collins] Boyd and Margaret Anderson. She had a brother and two sisters, named Andrew Gage Forgrave, Margaret Anna and Florence Elizabeth.  She was the oldest of the four children.
