Isabella's father was Alexander Fraser and her mother was Isabella Adam. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander Fraser and Helen Hamilton. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Alexander, John, Maggie, Helen, Jessie, Mary and Jane. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 59 in 1914 in Largs.³
