John Work was born on May 5th, 1813 in Flemingsburg, KY.  John Work's father was Alexander Of Drumore  Steen and his mother was Agnes Nancy Faris.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Steen and Elizabeth Boyd; his maternal grandparents were Faris and Nancy. He had five brothers and a sister, named Aaron Faris, Robert Wilson, Alexander Boyd, Josiah Yates, others and Rebecca Ann.  He died at the age of 68 on January 20th, 1882 in Winchester, OH.
