Elizabeth was born in 1898 in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.1   Elizabeth's father was Joesph F Cholerton and her mother was Mary Ann F Lowndes.  Her maternal grandparents were Henry Lowndes and Elizabeth Straw. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Walter, Frederick, George, Harriet and Ivy.  She was the third youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 82 in 1980.
