Samuel R Poteet 
Samuel was born on June 23rd, 1827 in Tennessee.1 Samuel's father was William Poteet and his mother was Sarah Cooper. His paternal grandparents were William Poteet and Keziah Maybe Detheridge; his maternal grandparents were Nathaniel Cooper and Christiana Hughes. He had three brothers and a sister, named Pleasant, Kennedy, Thomas and Christene. He was the youngest of the five children.-
