Nancy Ann was born on November 9th, 1841 in Redwater, Bowie Co, Texas, USA. Nancy Ann's father was Collin McKinney Akin and her mother was Lucinda J Watson. Her paternal grandparents were William (Bill) Collin Akin and Rebecca (Becky) McKinney. She had three brothers and two sisters, named David, William, John Watson, Martha Jane and Mary Jane. She was the second youngest of the six children. She had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named James Franklin, Collin McKinney, William C, Robert Jackson, Richard, Mattie, Rebecca Elizabeth, Emma and Ellie.-
