Mary's baptism took place on February 9th, 1800 in North Bradley.1  Mary's father was Salathiel  Sumption and her mother was Mary Harford.  Her paternal grandparents were Salathiel Sumption and Elizabeth Sargent; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Harford and Eleanor Dix. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Salathiel, John, Salathiel, Joseph, Joseph, Thomas, Elizabeth, Jenny and Elizabeth.
