Ann's baptism took place on February 16th, 1754 in North Bradley.1  Ann's father was Benjamin Mitchel and her mother was Ann Butcher.  Her paternal grandparents were Solomon Mitchel and Elizabeth; her maternal grandparents were Aaron Butcher and Rebekah Elliot. She had two brothers named Solomon and Benjamin. She had three half-sisters named Elizabeth, Grace and Mary.
