William was born on May 17th, 1779 and his baptism took place on September 26th, 1779 in North Bradley.1  William's father was William Francis and his mother was Mary Silverthorn.  His paternal grandparents were Jeremiah Frances and Martha. He had five brothers and six sisters, named William, Jeremiah, Charles, Esau, Joseph, Jinney, Mary, Betty, Joanna, Charlotte and Jane.  He died at the age of 6 in 1785.  He was buried on January 10th, 1785 in North Bradley.2
