Joseph's baptism took place on October 9th, 1774 in North Bradley.1  Joseph's father was William Francis and his mother was Mary Silverthorn.  His paternal grandparents were Jeremiah Frances and Martha. He had five brothers and six sisters, named William, William, Jeremiah, Charles, Esau, Jinney, Mary, Betty, Joanna, Charlotte and Jane.  He died in 1774.  He was buried on October 12th, 1774 in North Bradley.2
