John's baptism took place on April 8th, 1764 in North Bradley.1  John's father was John Deacon and his mother was Mary Salter.  His paternal grandparents were William Deacon Sen. and <Unknown>. He had a brother and six sisters, named Samuel, Betty, Betty, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah and Mary.  He died in 1778.  He was buried on March 31st, 1776 in North Bradley.2
