William's baptism took place on October 26th, 1755 in North Bradley.1  William's father was Joshua Bevan and his mother was Ann Sommers.  His maternal grandparents were William Sommers and widow (Summers). He had two brothers and six sisters, named Caleb, Job, Jane, Mary, Ann, Betty, Hannah and Jemima.
