Jane was born about 1774 and her baptism took place on November 25th, 1777 in North Bradley.1  Jane's father was Joshua Bevan and her mother was Ann Sommers.  Her maternal grandparents were William Sommers and widow (Summers). She had three brothers and five sisters, named William, Caleb, Job, Mary, Ann, Betty, Hannah and Jemima.
