George was born in 1799 and his baptism took place on July 29th, 1799 in St Matthew`s Church, Hayfield.1  George's father was Samuel Turner and his mother was Mary Wyatt.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Turner and Leah. He had a brother and two sisters, named James, Hannah and Sally.  He was the youngest of the four children.
