Frederick was born in 1908. Frederick's father was Frank Ernest Shambrook and his mother was Ada Elizabeth Bennett.  His paternal grandparents were Charles William Shambrook and Matilda Williams. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William, John, Louisa, Lily and Ada.
