John was born in 1779 in Sible Hedingham, Essex and his baptism took place there on May 25th, 1779.1 2   John's father was William Everett and his mother was Mary Argent. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Joseph, William, Joseph, Mary, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth, Jane and Lydia.  He was the third oldest of the ten children.
