Frances was born on December 3rd, 1848.  Frances' father was William E. Hishon and her mother was Frances Langford.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Hishon and Mary Enright. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Bill (William), Daniel, Possibly James, Mary, Sara(h), Margaret, Bessie (Elizabeth), Ellen and Kate (Catherine).  She was the seventh oldest of the ten children.
