Pierre Jean was born on September 8th, 1818 in Lummen.  Pierre Jean's father was Pierre Jean Steegmans and his mother was Anne Elisabeth Claes.  He had a brother and three sisters, named Ludovicus, Theresia, Anna Catherina and Carolina.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 55 on September 23rd, 1873 in Lummen.
