Marcus Josephus Gaethofs

Marcus was born on February 4th, 1841 in Pael.¹ Marcus' father was Pieter Frans Gaethofs and his mother was Catharina Elisabeth Willems. His paternal grandparents were Joannes Matthias Gaethofs and Maria Elisabeth Moons. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Gerardus, Jan Adolphe, Hendrik , Eugenius, Pieter Leonard, Joseph, Maria, Maria Virginia and Julia. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.
