Marie-Agnès-Josèpha was born in 1763 in Beringen and her baptism took place there on June 8th, 1763.1   Marie-Agnès-Josèpha's father was Egide François Elens and her mother was Marie Elisabeth Wouters.  Her paternal grandparents were Jean Nicolas Elens and Hélène Dorlinx.  She had three brothers and three sisters, named Jean Nicolas, Jean François, Egidius Franciscus Josephus, Marie Elisabeth, Maria Elisabeta Margareta and Catherine Elisabeth Josepha .  She was the sixth oldest of the seven children.
