Samuel James MATTHEWS

Samuel was born on February 12th, 1864 in Lefevre Peninsula, SA.¹   Samuel's father was Henry Thomas James MATTHEWS and his mother was Caroline FLEET.  His paternal grandparents were Henry MATTHEWS and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Thomas FLEET and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named James, Arthur, Arthur, Herbert, Margaret, Typhena, Diolinda, Elizabeth, Clara, Amelia and Letitie.  He was the third oldest of the twelve children.
