Mary Ann Rodgers

Mary Ann was born in March 1846 in Dunstone Newbold, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England.¹ Mary Ann's father was John Rodgers and her mother was Ann Fretwell. Her paternal grandfather was Godfrey Rodgers and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Sharman; her maternal grandfather is John Fretwell. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Henry, William Henry, Samuel, Elizabeth, Maria and Eliza. She is the oldest of the nine children.
