Sophie was born on August 1st, 1893.  Sophie's father was Wilhelm Friedrich Christoph Laue and her mother was Hanna Friederike Louise Scherf. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Herman, Otto, Heinrich, Friedrich, Friedrich, Marie, Helene, Cathrine, Elise and Anna.  She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Johannes and Elizabeth.  She died at 3 months old on November 11th, 1893.
