Sarah was born in 1892 in Bedworth, Warwickshire.1  Sarah's father was Harry WHITCROFT and her mother was Hannah HENTON.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas WHITCROFT and Sarah Ann <UNKNOWN>; her maternal grandparents were Joseph HENTON and Sarah <UNKNOWN>. She had a brother and a sister, named Tom and Harriett.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-sister named Eliza.
