Mabel was born about 1167 in Northamptonshire, England.1  Mabel's father was Walter Cantelou and her mother was <Unknown>.  Her paternal grandparents were Walter de Cantelou and <Unknown>. She had a brother and a sister, named William and Maud.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died in 1267.2
